INFORMATION STRATEGY & DESIGN

Content design is about inviting questions on how people prefer to engage with your product or brand. It’s not just about coming up with the best language, but how the user will engage with content in their desire to do something.

Information design matters because it is interesting, easy, beautiful and true.

The fundamental objective for creating anything which satisfies David McCandless' Information Design model should be in the service of the holy grail of value creation: cultivating a community. When people learn in ways that are interesting, easy, beautiful and true they will share their experience with the rest of the world and that mindshare leads to a call to action in subtle but profound ways.

Information that is designed in an interesting, easy, beautiful and true way:

  1. Builds community by engaging both the heart and the mind, which promotes engagement long after the experience is over.

  2. Exercises both the right and the left hemispheres of the brain, which leads to that "sticky" factor.

  3. Leads to greater and greater understanding, awareness and commitment.

  4. Enables people to collaborate across languages and cultures.

Information in motion

We extend information design beyond graphics to the design and production of motion stories, videos and animations. We believe that all messaging opportunities should be designed to take maximum advantage of a communication opportunity. We also believe that using more than one format (i.e. infographic animation combined with a supplemental static visual) for the same message creates more impact. See portfolio for more creative communication modes.
